News from the associated Press:

CINCINNATI -- Terrell Owens decided to have knee surgery Monday, ending his revival season with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The receiver tore cartilage in his left knee two weeks ago, but kept playing. He aggravated the injury while making a cut on the opening series of a 19-17 win over Cleveland on Sunday, forcing him to hobble off the field.
Owens flew to Birmingham, Ala., on Monday and was examined by Dr. James Andrews. The 37-year-old Owens was scheduled for surgery later in the day.
He tweeted a photo of himself in a hospital gown getting ready for the operation late Monday afternoon.
Favre
MINNEAPOLIS -- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says he's still "following up" on some of the information in the Brett Favre investigation to make sure it's thorough and reaches "the right conclusion."
Goodell was in Minnesota for Monday's Bears-Vikings game at snowy TCF Bank Stadium. He did not elaborate on the nature of the work he has left to do on the investigation, nor would he be specific when asked when he'll declare his decision.
"I'm not going to put a timetable on it, other than I did say I hope it'll be by the end of the regular season," Goodell said.
He added: "We want to be as thorough and serious about it and reach the right conclusion."
Cowboys
IRVING, Texas -- The return of Tony Romo remains on hold.
Since Romo broke his left collarbone Oct. 25, the Dallas Cowboys have pointed toward having him back in the lineup this week. However, team owner Jerry Jones said Sunday he was not optimistic and Monday interim coach Jason Garrett would only say "we'll see how he does, how he feels."
Browns
BEREA, Ohio -- Browns cornerback Eric Wright will miss Cleveland's final two games with a left leg injury.
Wright got hurt in Sunday's 19-17 loss at Cincinnati. Coach Eric Mangini said Wright won't play again this season for the Browns (5-9), who will host Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Mangini does not know if the four-year veteran will need surgery.
Seahawks
RENTON, Wash. -- Seahawks special teams captain Roy Lewis has been placed on injured reserve with a lingering knee injury that will require surgery, while coach Pete Carroll remains hopeful cornerback Marcus Trufant will be able to play Sunday at Tampa Bay.
Seattle made the roster move on Monday and signed defensive back Marcus Brown to the active roster.
Colts
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts may have to make their final playoff push without receiver Austin Collie.
Less than 24 hours after Collie left his third game in seven weeks with a head injury, coach Jim Caldwell said he didn't know when -- or if -- one of their top play-makers would return this season.
"We lean totally upon those who are in charge," Caldwell said, referring to the doctors. "Here's the thing. There's not a coach that makes any decision based on anybody who has a concussion. Once he's cleared and ready to go, that's the case."
Jets
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Mark Sanchez beat the Pittsburgh Steelers with a sore shoulder.
Coach Rex Ryan said the New York Jets quarterback had an MRI exam Monday on his right shoulder, which was "kind of sore" after it was banged up early in the team's 22-17 win Sunday. Ryan downplayed the MRI, saying it was strictly "precautionary," and Sanchez should be fine to play at Chicago next Sunday.
Ravens
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Ravens coach John Harbaugh says tight end Todd Heap could return for Sunday's road game against the Cleveland Browns after missing the past two games with a pulled right hamstring.
Heap was injured during a 13-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Then last but not least my dearest Chiefs.....with emergency appendectomy surgery leading a loss against the Chargers in Week 14....I was worried! But I can stand tall n proud (no pun) for my boys. Matt Cassell played better than I could have asked for. He was strong and playing with tremendous confidence. They took the win against the Rams 27-13....... Now we do have a tough game coming up against Titans, but Matty is on fire....

Cheers to football!!!!

Merry Christmas....we'll see you all on boxing day!!
