Many of our local bars and pubs will be rammed tonight with hopeful hearts and dreams. We all know what our history is with the Blackhawks. I like to think metphorically speaking we have two warriors up against each other and we can only "pray" that we make them our "prey".
As many of us know, winning the first game is crucial and necessary. Momentum always begins with the first win. Stats show that the first win will give the team a series win advantage by a little under 70 %.
This is even more important for our boys in blue as they have historically lost in 5 straight playoff games. It seems as though home ice advantage has lost a bit of wind in it's sails since the lock-out! They say that having your fans behind you for your first goal can be poweful but if you really look at it the power of negativity is just as high if you miss a goal or worse lose the first game.
We need to forget home ice advantage and everything else were holding onto. Everywhere you go it seems everyone has their version of how this is going to go down. Regardless, we need to win because its the "Blackhawks" and for the pete of sake we need to put those pompous over paid players in their place. Lol!
This is the year we need to take the "Cup"!!!! Experts say its going to happen, fans are craving it, and betting lines are all for it!! But to be honest it seems a million miles away with our history. This will not only be a physical test but a true test of mental strength and spirit. Our boys can't help but go back in time and remember our fate of the last 2 play-off series. It will take some serious adjusting and mental direction to win this round.
Let's all say our prayers and keep faith that the 40 year mark is the break of the said curse that is against our Canucks. I have added a prayer from my people that goes to tonights win!
